Red Gallery Contemporary Art Space
This work explores cultural identity as a paradox between strength and vulnerability through the translucent clay objects. It considers the idea of the protective structure as a shell or as a living-growing organism suggesting both an object of protection, and fragility. These installations illustrate the spiritual and political concerns of identity as the delicate equilibrium that exists between brittleness and fortitude – the core of creation and existence.
