Treasures of the SeaÂ
This body of work was created while exploring shapes and movement of sea life. Delving into the deep ocean represents a timeless mythology for me, where treasures can be found and past and present collide.
The pieces are imprinted with ancient Hebrew scripts and fossil like images. The fossil imprints suggest a journey from archaic times. The scripts refer to an anthology of love songs found in the book of the Hebrew bible called Shir Hashirim, meaning the Song of Songs. The flora, fauna and geographical background of the Land of Israel are vividly described within that text.
